西南科技大学(Southwest University of Science and Technology)简称“西南科大”,坐落于中国科技城-四川省绵阳市,由教育部、国家国防科技工业局和四川省人民政府共建,是西部重点建设十四所高校之一,是四川省全面创新改革试验定点联系高校之一,入选国家“中西部高校基础能力建设工程”、四川省“双一流”建设计划、教育部卓越工程师教育培养计划、“双万计划”、国家级大学生创新创业训练计划、国家级新工科研究与实践项目、四川省卓越法律人才教育培养计划、四川省卓越农林人才教育培养计划、四川2011计划。

The Southwest University of Science and Technology(SWUST) is located in the city of Mianyang, the unique science and technology city in China, Sichuan Province. The university is a full-time multi-disciplinary university with over 60 years of education. It is an institution of higher education co-supported and administered by the People's Government of Sichuan, Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China(MOE), and Ministry of Industry and Information of the People’s Republic of China. It is one of 14 key universities receiving State’s special support in western China as well as one of the pilot modern distance education universities in China. The university possesses the national Science & Technology Park approved by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and MOE. 

The university covers an area of about 273 hectares with a building floorage of one million square meters. As a large dynamic university of the 21st century, SWUST offers a wide range of programs at the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate levels. SWUST has 17 schools, offering 76 bachelor degree programs, 4 types of professional master degree programs, 17 first-level master degree disciplines and 3 first-level doctorate degree disciplines in 9 subjects namely Engineering, Agriculture, Science, Economics, Law, Literature, Management , Education and Arts. In addition, the university offers 4 Ph.D joint programs with the Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics. The university serves over 30,000 fulltime postgraduate and undergraduate students. The university has more than 2,200 staff including one academician of the Chinese Engineering Academy and 780 professors and associate professors.
